What Is Social Media Engagement?
Before we get into the tactics of social media engagement, let’s first find out what exactly social engagement is. The measurement of likes, comments, and shares is called social engagement. This can be measured on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube.
Even though social media followers are very important, more valuable to measure is how your social media followers interact with your page’s posts, pictures, and videos. Are they liking and commenting on your posts?
Below, we give you three tactics you can use in your social media engagement strategy.
3 Tactics To Use In Your Social Media Engagement Strategy
1. Post Regularly
This can be a slippery slope. You want to post high-quality content on a regular basis, but you don’t want to post too much and overwhelm your followers. Since posting on social media multiple times a day is difficult, automating social media content will help you maintain your presence and save you time and effort while increasing engagement.
2. Use Visual Content
One of the most powerful tools you can use to help increase social media engagement is to incorporate visual content. Content that includes images saw an 85% interaction rate on Facebook and a 35% increase in shares. Visual content can include videos, photos, graphics, or case studies. People love seeing products and services in action. They want the confidence that the product or service is going to do what what it says it can do.
3. Ask for Feedback
People enjoy talking and sharing their opinions online. Engage your followers by asking them questions. You can conduct polls and surveys to generate this information. Not only does this method attract the audience, but your team uses community management with low effort when framing campaign success. This may seem obvious, but that’s because it is! If you want people to talk, you have to ask them to! Post an open ended question, asking followers for feedback on a new product or post a poll asking your followers to vote on which new product idea appeals to them more. Don’t overthink it and even more importantly, do it often!
